Last week, Demand Lucha capped off a stellar 2022 with our traditional Christmas Show. DOC ZOK debuted FredDIE, Nurse Novacane, and a 3rd Medico, along with taking another tag team championship victory home. SUPER CRAZY was very happy to have sold a ton of shirts… JODY THREAT showed returning Toronto darling RAY LYN just how wild the wild child is… and GRINGO LOCO ended the night with a big win over Indie Legend DELIRIOUS.
Then the champ threw out a massive challenge for 2023. Gringo Loco informed the crowd at Toronto’s Parkdale Hall that he felt, after dominating Demand Lucha for ’22, that he was now a shot caller! Who could argue? The champ then called out ultra-violent and inventive JOEY JANELA
It’s BAD BOY vs BASE GOD on February 16th, 2023. Judging from the carnage of Gringo’s defense against EFFY earlier this year, one would think that this match is going to get hardcore and over the top in short order.
The “Bad Boy” is known for introducing doors into wrestling, as well as other insane adjustments to the culture, and through his inventive antics, Janela has created a chaotic aura around his indie king persona, a persona he has tried to develop even further since being one of the first signees to break away from what was thought of as the indie promise land of AEW.
There is no doubt Janela is a top-level draw and a man our Champion wants to test himself against. Whether loved or lauded for his activities, Janela is one of a kind and fans will want to see the Bad Boy come out on top… or get his comeuppance.
