Demand Lucha’s Ultimate Triple Threat from Lucha Block Party had more behind the booking than putting on a great match. Gringo Loco has been a superb champion for the fans, last month’s crazy match against EFFY is proof enough of that, but management at Demand are less than impressed. This reporter has learned a lot about Gringo’s reception and attitude in the Demand Lucha locker room.
The cocky champion has been complaining about the exchange rate, demanding more money and generally being contemptuous towards Canadian talent, Canadian fans and Canada in general. Demand added Ninja Mack to Speedball Bailey’s title match, making the advertised “Ultimate Triple Threat” a prime chance for managment to crown a champion they could be proud of.
Things didn’t quite work out.
Now Demand Lucha is bringing in some of the Base God’s toughest opponents in hopes of trying again. Three’s a Crowd… but Four is a guaranteed new champion… no?
That’s what Demand is hoping at least, as they present BOOM SHAKA LUCHA on October 20th, with a Fatal 4-Way Main Event for the Premier Championship.
The 1st of 3 is the wild AREZ! With a vast knowledge of both the US and Mexican styles and having met Gringo Loco in battle many times before, Arez will prove to be a solid replacement for The Base God upon winning the championship.
The 2nd of 3 challengers; probably the most familiar with Gringo Loco, is the young sensation ASF. Having teamed with and fought against the Base God dozens of times, ASF knows the champion inside and out and will make a great Premier Champion himself. Upon winning, ASF would be the youngest, lightest and fastest champion in company history.
And finally… KOMANDER! What can be said about our 3rd of 3 competitors? Komander is insane!!… how’s that?
Komander has quickly made a tremendous splash on the US indie scene, getting everyone wet and left salivating for more. Along with ASF, he will be debuting in Canada at Boom Shaka Lucha. Komanader redefines high flying extreme and displays innovation like none have seen in years. When he becomes Premier Champion on October 20th, we’re sure he will soar to new heights and use the championship as fuel for his flights!!
