NEWS, NEWS, NEWS!! Shane Strickland, Blue Demon Jr, Torneo Extrema & More!

On September 20th, 2015, the legendary Blue Demon Jr came out to Lucha Toronto’s first true Supershow, Chapter 3: Copa Torneo Extrema. The Lucha Legend wowed the crowd alongside longtime friend El Pantera and Pantera’s star pupil Lince Dorado. The event also saw the super popular Vampiro in an absolutely brutal streetfight. At the end of his match, the Demon promised the crowd that he would return to Toronto and return he did. Mere months later in fact, as LuchaTO presented Lucha by the Water, with the debut of company mainstay Freddie Mercurio. Since that time though, the Demon has not returned to Toronto.

The rumour is, officials at Demand arranged to have the Demon come into town on July 21st this year, only 6 weeks after the upcoming Supershow event “Glamour X Menace”. Unexpectedly,  plans had to be changed and the event was moved to the following Sunday before unfortunately being cancelled outright. No official public announcements were made, so no harm was done, but this reporter has found out the board at Demand is heavily disappointed and determined to have the legend return.

Past events like “Lucha by the Water” and the epic “MascaraMania” with La Parka and Octogoncito, were unfortunately not made into full events for the public consumption and it does not look like the company will have the ability to do so moving forward. But the company did recently release Chapters 1 & 2 over at LuchaNetwork.com and they are also NOW proud to announce the release of the first-ever SuperShow COPA TORNEO EXTREMA.  The one-night tournament is exclusively on LuchaNetwork.com as of today. Longtime Lucha fans should be salivating at the chance to finally see this fully edited event. The eight-man tournament was truly off the hook, Vampiro versus Boris was an absolute feast of violence and the featured trios match saw some serious tension between rising indie superstar Shane Strickland and Blue Demon Jr.

Although the company was unable to secure Demon’s return, they were ecstatic to announce the return of Shane Strickland. Look out for August 26th’s “Swerve”, tickets now available here at DemandLucha.com.

But while you’re there, make sure you get tickets for “Glamour X Menace”, the newest Supershow offering from the company with Darby Allin, Teddy Hart, PJ Black, former WWE tag team champion and current indy wrestling nightmare batshit crazy psychopath, PCO – Pierre Carl Ouellet. PCO will be taking on the Fraternity’s Channing Decker in Deckers’s own signature Frat House Brawl, a no-DQ style streetfight which he can be seen competing in scattered throughout the Lucha Network Archives. I’m sure PCO will excel in this environment.

They will be featured alongside other Demand Lucha stalwarts like Carter Mason, Freddie Mercurio, Lionel Knight, Josh Alexander and current Premier Champion, Ophidian. Check out the Glamour X Menace update videos below and get your tickets now at HERE
