Serpent Society Stands Strong at MascaraMania2

Demand Lucha‘s latest event was a rousing success. Mascaramania 2 was everything that company hoped for, but it was also solid evidence that The Order of The Serpent Society has the company on lockdown. The Society came out to start the show ahead of schedule, simply because they felt like it. Serpentico did the talking for The Order, taunting the Mexican fan base in Spanish and then setting The Bearded Bull Seraphis upon two separate opponents, destroying both.

After The Society vacated the ring, NEW Director of Demand Joel Gertner took to the mic and alongside Chris Crucifix (who did the English announcements) hosted the entire show in Spanish and was proud to present his second ever Lucha Chaos Scramble.

Former two-time Royal Canadian Tag Team Champion Louis Lyndon came out on top over Rory Gulak, The Whisper, Ashton Wagandha and Travis Huckabee before Jesse Mack and Gisele Shaw wowed the lucha loving crowd with some women’s action.

Backstage after the match, Shaw was seen talking with members of the Serpent Society who seem to have taken a liking to her. It has since been announced that she will team up with Ophidian and Seraphis at Glamour and Menace June 10th. Originally, Holidead was supposed to debut for the company as their partner and supposedly she is furious about this slight and who knows how this wild and wicked Diva will react. However, she was quickly snapped up and placed on the opposite team alongside Evil Uno and Darby Allin. That match is sure to tear the house down on June 10th.

Openweight Champion Buck Gunderson was also in action after being granted a one-on-one, catch-as-catch-can wrestling contest. Unhappy with his opponent, Chip Punk, Buck came out and informed the majority Mexican crowd that Lucha is “Stupido”. The match against Chip Punk allowed no springboarding, top-rope or Lucha style manoeuvres whatsoever. Traditional pro wrestling only, that is until Gunderson cheated using a second rope axe handle leading to the eventual victory. This office is still waiting for Director Gertner’s comments the subject.

Following the openweight title match was the #1 contendership match for the Royal Canadian Tag Team Championships which saw Movado and Freddie Mercurio fall to the Northern Touch, Carter Mason and Lionel Knight. Both men have been on a tear over the last year. They are now number one contenders and looking forward to taking on the Fraternity.

Main event action saw Josh Alexander take on Premier Champion, Ophidian. Alexander, a two-time former Premier champion, had just arrived in the building driving in from Hamilton after defending his Strong Style title over at our hardcore sister promotion No Limits Wrestling. They are an amazing brand of hard-hitting Strong Style Hardcore and is available on the Demand Lucha Network. With a new schedule comprised of Impact Wrestling TV tapings and having already fought a strong style title match an hour earlier on, Alexander also had to deal with the full fury of the Serpent Society as both Seraphis and Serpentico skulked around ringside during the bout and were heavily involved. The former two-time champion could not make it a third and Ophidian had his hand raised in victory.

But as the Society gloated and beat down upon Alexander, a man we have not seen in a long time came to his rescue. Rumour has it Aiden Prince had a bone to pick with Serpentico as well as a friendship with Josh Alexander, perhaps even travelling with him to the venue. Nothing is known for sure at this time but Aiden Prince came out to the rescue and forced a second Main Event match with Serpentico, in which he was victorious. Although the Society ended the night licking their wounds, all in all, it was three out of four victories and the Society seems to still be on top.

Join us at Toronto’s Lee’s Palace on June 10th for the Demand Lucha Super Show “Glamour and Menace” where the Society will be tested once again, as well as our third ever and biggest lucha chaos scramble, including PJ Black and Teddy Hart as well as Demand mainstay’s Carter Mason & Josh Alexander. You can catch all the action from Mascarmania 2 plus our two latest events, Road to Mascaramania: Opera House and LuchaPalooza, all on the network.
