Gringo Loco debuts in Toronto and dethrones King of the North

Gringo Loco debuted in Toronto at Luchapalooza 2022… and became the new Lucha Premier Champion.

Originally scheduled to just fight New York’s Smiley, Gringo was granted a same day title shot after defeating him and was able to claim Demand Lucha’s top prize from long time champion Carter Mason in the main event of the evening. Loco is only the 10th man to hold the championship in the titles long history. Former champions include AEW’s The Blade, Current Impact World Champion Josh Alexander and long time Chikara stalwart and head trainer, Ophidian.
