It seems the first company has decided to take Buck Gunderson up on his open challenge. As many of you may know the current Openweight Champion has had an open door policy for any promotion that wishes to bring him in for a standard, traditional, one-on-one pro wrestling match and he will put the Openweight Championship on the line. Last Saturday in West Virginia at “Purification” presented by SCWA, Buck Gunderson took on and defeated Bradford Montague.

Many other companies have shown interest in booking Gunderson and new Director of Demand! Joel Gertner has supposedly stated, in private to board members, that he has interest in bringing Gunderson back, giving him his traditional one-on-one match and getting the title off of him as soon as possible and around the waist of somebody a little more cooperative. We’ll see what Gunderson’s lawyers have to say, but for now, the Openweight Championship seems to be on the open market.
