Cancelled KOMANDER lands for last-minute surprise appearance!!!

…Plus we’ve announced the Return of the BLOCK PARTY!!

Well, we’re finally getting around to another blog post. Things have been pretty crazy around Demand Lucha and with good reason.

This year’s Luchapalooza show has been up on IWTV for a few weeks and the vibe at the show was electric. We’ve also recently announced TWO… count ’em, TWO, upcoming shows… including “Lucha Block Party” with the Canadian debut AAA Mega Champion EL HIJO DEL VIKINGO alongside JACK CARTWHEEL and SPEEDBALL MIKE BAILEY.

Then BRIAN KEITH will be debuting for the company a month later at “Boom Shaka Lucha” as we return to Lee’s Palace. EFFY will challenge the bounty hunter while Premier Champion GRINGO LOCO defends against Lucha up-and-comer, BENDITO.

Luchapalooza is almost like the Wrestlemania of the company these days and this year’s event certainly lived up to the hype. LOS MEDICOS defeated the MANE EVENT and retained the Royal Tag Team Championships with the help of Nurse Novocaine. Midas Black got the hot tag which led to him hitting a Death Valley Driver on Medico number 2, earning a huge pop… but it was not enough as a swinging side slam put away Midas for the Medico win.

SAM ADONIS was in the house again with his big mouth and defeated DRAGO KID in a decisive fashion. Even though the kid was fast on his feet, hitting head scissor takedowns and dives through the ropes to the floor… but Adonis eventually caught him, whipping him around the ring and into the ring post. A brutal PowerBomb and his new finisher was the combo that put the kid away.

FRED-DIE was in the house again. SPACE MONKEY was looking for revenge from the last time they fought, as FredDIE had been on suspension for attacking Monkey as well as referees. The stipulation for this match was if FredDIE lost, Space Monkey got 5 minutes in the ring with EL DOCTOR. FredDIE did indeed lose via disqualification once again, but ZOKNOV certainly stepped up to the plate… as he disrobed to show how Jacked he was (after ingesting some sort of potion). This match was literally too much… involving Novacane, Medicos, Security, Fans, the Merch Stand kid, and more. Check out IWTV to see the insanity that was this outing.

After a cryptic promo was released just days before the show, talking about the totem spirit finding a new vessel, The brand new SERAPHIS joined us for battle.

Super hot indie sensation JORDAN OLIVER debuted for the company and his talents were never able to shine as he was destroyed alongside THE ULTRA VIOLETTE and EVAN GREENAWAY in an intergender four-way doors match. Seraphis won after putting Greenaway through two stacked doors.

The WWE legend GANGREL was in the house next taking on the MEGA MEDICO. This was standard fair for Gangrel, dominating his opponent before the Mega Medico cheated for the win, as usual. Having Gangrel at the show was certainly a highlight in the Demand Lucha catalog.

The Main Event saw a returning AREZ replace the previously announced KOMANDER; taking on GRINGO LOCO for the Premier Championship.

Komander was announced and then quickly canceled. The newly signed AEW star quickly was beset with scheduling conflicts and travel issues… but at the last minute, Demand Lucha PULLED IT OFF and Komander show up at the event, turning the main event into a three-way.

An unfortunate injury to Komander halfway through the match made it so that he needed to be escorted to the back, even though he attempted to re-enter at one point. Loco defeated Arez with a Spanish Fly to retain his Goldberg status as the undefeatable champion. Komander was able to recover with no permanent damage.

Next up for Demand Lucha on IWTV is “VOLUME 3 of our Premier Championship Retrospective”… this time looking at Desean Pratt, AKA The Funky Pharaoh, AMASIS.

Premiering on IWTV this upcoming Monday, June 5th at 8pm. We follow that the next night Tuesday the 6th with the release of our annual Cinco de Mayo show.
“Lucha Invasion: Coburg” premieres Tuesday next week on IWTV.
