Hogtown Wrestling has caught the eye of an upscale custom engagement ring designer Karen MacRae, the proprietor of On the Other Hand Jewellery at 1015 Queen St East in Toronto. Karen attended both matches at Super Wonder Gallery in the Fall of 2016 and got hooked on the fun. Inspired by the physical prowess of the performers and the excitement of these live events, and in spirit of giving back to the community Karen MacRae has volunteered this lovely Championship Ring Design schematic for our fans’ scrutiny.. Now its up to us all whether or not we decide to buy it

The cost of the completed jewellery in 14K gold would be just over $4,000 not including tax. But Karen also noted that the same design in sterling silver would only be $1,200 HST, and if we ordered twelve at a time she could apply a thirty something percent discount.
Symbols are important in commemorative sports items. The CN Tower on the side of the metal band has long been a local monument, but is also a pillar of strength, like our champion. The date above locks the item in time and makes it much more collectible.
Queen Victoria who reigned over the British Commonwealth of Nations for most of the 1800s would have known wrestling as an timeless sport practiced by the ancient Greeks. Many of the first modern Olympians were wrestlers too, and were well celebrated for their skill in the newspapers chronicling the event. So in many ways the Victorian Era was something of a Golden Age for the sport or wrestling, and so it was in homage to that time period that Victory Commonwealth wrestling first appeared in Canada decades ago, and it was from that league that Hogtown emerged last summer. Hence there’s a picture of Queen Victoria on the ring and any reference to her as a hog would therefore be most unfortunate, and not at all what was intended.
